You will serve as a INTERDISCIPLINARY COMMUNITY PLANNER/LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT/ARCHITECT/CIVIL/INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER in the Planning, Design and Construction Branch (PDCB) of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH at Public Works Annapolis, Maryland of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.
Duties
You will perform a facilities analysis (e.g., functional or economic development, expansion capabilities, circulation, physical security, physical and sociological community interrelationships) to verify if operational needs and requirements are met.
You will perform technical and functional review of project plans and designs to verify projects satisfy planning criteria.
You will develop basic facility requirements (BFRs) to justify new construction, consolidation, and demolition.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Providing planning recommendations for construction, demolition, energy, maintenance, and facilities development projects; 2) Reviewing engineering/architectural drawings or specifications for construction, demolition, energy, maintenance, facilities development projects to identify inconsistencies; 3) Using planning systems and automated databases to capture spatial and geographic data to support facility planning. Applicants must possess
If you are applying for the 0808 (Architecture) series - You must possess a Bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited college or university in architecture or a related field that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture or related disciplines of which at least (1) 30 semester hours were in architectural design, and (2) 6 semester hours were in each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems.
OR
Have a combination of college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished a thorough knowledge of the arts and sciences underlying professional architecture, and a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the architectural principles, methods, and techniques and their applications to the design and construction or improvement of buildings. The adequacy of such background is demonstrated by at least one of the following: 1) Related Curriculum: Degree from an accredited college or university in architectural engineering may be accepted as satisfying in full the basic requirements, provided the completed course work in architectural engineering provided knowledge, skills, and abilities substantially equivalent to those provided in the courses specified in response A; 2) Experience: An applicant lacking a degree in architecture must have had one year of experience in an architect's office or in architectural work for each year short of graduation from a program of study in architecture. In the absence of college courses, 5 years of such experience is required. This experience must have demonstrated that the applicant has acquired a thorough knowledge of the fundamental principles and theories of professional architecture.
If you are applying for the 0020 (Community Planning) series - You must possess a Bachelor's degree in community planning or related field such as urban affairs, architecture, landscape, architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration. You must also have at least 12 semester hours in the planning process, socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, urban and regional economic analysis, and development finance. Note: Applicants with degrees in related fields, such as those listed above, who do not have the 12 semester hours of specified course work must have had at least one year of work experience in community planning acquired under the supervision and guidance of a community planner.
OR
Have a combination of education and experience with courses equivalent to a major in one of the above disciplines, or a combination of related courses totaling at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the above disciplines of which at least 12 semester hours were in the planning process, and socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
