Duties
Serves as a supervisor of an organizational unit responsible for the receipt, storage, and issue of supplies worldwide.
Directs organizational unit operations through subordinates performing complex clerical, technical, and administrative assignments related to inventory management.
Conducts continuing review and analysis of assigned operational area and evaluates the effectiveness of work operations.
Assures optimum utilization of current assets and resources, specialized storage activities, and rapid reaction time in support of mission programs.
Distributes and balances the workload among employees in accordance with established work flow or job specialization.
Reviews completed work to see that instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines have been met.

- Incumbent must maintain body weight not in excess of 300 pounds. Operates an aisle mobile hybrid crane vehicle.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state drivers license and certifications required by the installation, federal, state, and local laws.
Qualifications
To qualify for a Supervisory Supply Technician, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-08 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Providing services in direct support of the supply distribution program related to supply support operations within a Distribution Center;
Conducting analysis of operating performance data relative to established goals and resource utilization;
Investigating stock/record/material discrepancies affecting inventory balances or Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDRs)
Preparing reports concerning results of investigations performed.
B. Education Substitution: As a general rule, education is not creditable above the GS-5 level for this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Physical Demands: In the performance of investigations, inventories and location surveys, the incumbent is required to research, survey and/or count all types of material, some which is heavy and bulky, stored on pallets, and some which is stored in high-level locations. Work may require operating MHE and handling, pushing and lifting items weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds. Depending on availability of equipment and depot location, may occasionally operate a bicycle, sedan, or pick-up truck to move between work sites.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
