This vacancy is for a IT Specialist (Custspt) position in the Client Services Division located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland. The Census Bureau is accessible from the Metro Rail Green Line - Suitland Station.

Duties
Evaluates, current and latest enterprise desktop/laptop management systems to manage, troubleshoot, secure and update desktop/laptop devices across Census Enterprise network.
Uses knowledge that has been acquired through training and/or extensive on the-job experience to perform job, and evaluates technical information related to the job.
Analyzes and develops system testing environment, evaluating processes and technical characteristics of IT systems, including identifying critical operational issues to improve a secure testing environment.
Troubleshoots, diagnosis, system problems and determining the source and cause of the problem. Document root cause and create action report to present to management.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: Evaluating and developing IT solutions to assure IT provided desktops and laptops are adequately supporting Census employees efficiently. Using technical knowledge to assist staff in managing IT systems/applications. Monitoring management systems to proactively determine system(s) health in reducing system failures. Managing and monitoring device upgrades within determined schedule.
In addition to the above specialized experience, your resume must demonstrate one year of Information Technology (IT) related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
