You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH MANAGER in the PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY DIVISION of BUREAU OF MEDICINE AND SURGERY.
Duties
You will serve as the Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) Manager in the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) Public Health and Safety (Code N44).
You will implement policy and objectives, evaluate programs, and ensure the quality and efficiency BUMED’s safety program.
You will manage BUMED’s Safety Management System (SMS).
You will provide program oversight and guidance to BUMED's Regional Safety and Occupational Health
You will conduct long-range management planning to coordinate safety considerations, techniques, and standards
You will represent Chief, BUMED on the Safety Quality Council and in other meetings, conferences, and committees involving Safety and Occupational Health policy.
You will provide program management oversight of BUMED's subordinate commands’ High-Risk Training (HRT) programs.
You will Interpret federal Safety and Occupational Health standards as they relate to BUMED enterprise military and civilian personnel.
You will Oversees management of Enterprise Automated Safety Management System (ESAMS) for the BUMED enterprise
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience managing safety or occupational health program elements including safety education, analyzing mishap reports, and oversight of safety improvement plans
Experience evaluating safety program effectiveness and compliance with all applicable safety laws, rules, and regulations
Experience conducting Safety and Occupational Health inspections and surveys for compliance with established safety and occupational health policies or standards
Experience utilizing automated information systems to obtain safety-related metrics and analyze safety program effectiveness (e.g., Defense Occupational and Environmental Readiness System-Industrial Hygiene (DOEHRS-IH), Enterprise Automated Safety Management System (ESAMS), Risk Management Information (RMI), Enterprise Task Management Software Solution, or similar systems
