Position may be filled as a term appointment Not-To-Exceed (2) years. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
Duties
Planning and coordinating a variety of operational, logistical and training functions related to logistical support to mobilized Individuals and Active, Reserve, and National Guard units.
Prioritize and coordinate internal Logistics Division functional area taskings and suspense, ensuring mission responsiveness and adequate resourcing.
Provide advice, assistance, and develop plans dealing with procedural and factual aspects of logistical support or portion of more complex plans.
Maintain liaison with supported units coordinating and correlating functions, plans, etc., to resolve problems and ensure accomplishment of mission.
Prepare a variety of administrative actions i.e. decision papers, Information papers, memorandums, briefings, etc., on scheduling, equipment support, training, deployments and redeployments.
Assign and evaluate work of subordinates in the logistics division.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- May require temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing plans for obtaining and distributing of needed logistical assets; coordination of transportation services and equipment and coordinating with other agencies to ensure readiness and effective movement of materiel via multiple modes of transportation; monitoring progress and quality of work within logistic operations to accomplish mission requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
