About the Position: Serves as an Environmental Protection Specialist for the Installation Management Command (IMCOM), responsible for programmatic direction of environmental programs. Division Mission Statement: Establish environmental compliance and conservation strategies that are effective, sustainable, and support mission readiness.

Duties

Advise Command team, Directorates and Tenants on legal operating procedures on matters concerning environmental programs. Leads or manages one or more environmental programs within the Directorate of Public Works (DPW Environmental Division. Plans and schedules workload to maximize effectiveness of available personnel resources and to meet emergency or priority requirements. Advises the Garrison Commander regarding any high cost and/or controversial projects. When unconventional environmental problems are encountered, provides recommended solutions. Responsible for overall environmental division safety program, including coordination with the Directorate Safety Officer. Provide briefings and safety information to division staff.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a State-issued Driver's License.
  • Up to 10% TDY Required.
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Government Vehicle Driver's License.
  • Must have or be able to pass 40-hour Environmental Protection Agency Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response course.
