You will serve as a General Engineer in the AEGIS Technical Representative Office of AEGIS TECHREP.

Duties

You will advise on a variety of test and evaluation related topics and issues for the organization to include Qualification Testing, Operational Testing, Interoperability Testing and test-related accreditations. You will serve as the Test and Evaluation Manager as an expert in test and evaluation and represent the organization on test and evaluation matters. You will manage, direct, plan, coordinate, and execute the Test and Evaluation Master Plan with service test agencies. You will be responsible for cost, schedule, performance of varied test and evaluation activities related to assigned programs/projects. You will prepare documentation to support required testing and evaluations including the design, development, planning, procurement, systems integration, test, fleet introduction, and support. You will prepare budgets for test and evaluation resources and events. You will monitor contractor performance and approve/disapprove contractor-prepared work products during the life of a given Test and Evaluation service contract. You will lead the development of documentation to support test events. You will resolve problems that may impact mission performance. You will ensure specified operational requirements are incorporated in test and evaluation plans. You will coordinate with organizational staff members to incorporate professional engineering and Test and Evaluation requirements to test events. You will serve as an expert, advisor, and consultant to the organization in terms of keeping abreast of the latest developments and initiatives across the spectrum of defense-related Test and Evaluation areas.

• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-03 (GS-13 Equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer providing engineering guidance on test and evaluation activities or operations for the development, modernization, repair, maintenance or sustainment of weapon/combat systems, subsystems, or components to meet specification requirements on surface ships or submarines. Education

Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above). OR

Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
