The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of assignments related to the occupancy and termination of government owned unaccompanied housing.
Duties
Receives, reviews, and processes advanced inquiries and applications for unaccompanied units.
Advises incoming personnel on housing available, advantage and disadvantage of various housing areas, turn-down options, tenant rights and obligations, applicant's position on waiting list, and procedures for on and off base moves.
Processes routine assignments and terminations of unaccompanied housing.
Prepares and inputs documentation related to housing assistance activities.

- May be required to operate a motor vehicle while assisting with site surveys and studies. May be required to possess a current driver's license
- Duty locations may alternate between Charlestown AFB and Naval Weapons Station Charlestown to support Joint Base Charlestown mission requirements
- Work may include some overtime
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a diverse group of individuals, using a high degree of tact and diplomacy
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least three (3) years of general experience, (1) year of which was equivalent to at least GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of general experience includes determining eligibility for, assignment, occupancy, maintenance, and use of housing facilities; process housing applications; interview candidates; provide information concerning eligibility, and tenant rights and obligations.

EDUCATION: Applicant has successfully completed a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. NOTE: You must submit a copy of college transcripts.
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Applicant has less than the full amount of general experience described in the job opportunity announcement; however, has completed education leading towards a Bachelor's Degree as described in the job opportunity announcement. Therefore, has a combination of experience and education. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of Air Force housing management regulations, procedures, and directives to process applications, advise applicants on housing options, eligibility, and termination of housing.
Skill in interviewing applicants to obtain factual information and to explain housing regulations and procedures.
Skill in applying a variety of housing policies and procedures.
Skill in basic computer data entry, retrieval, and storage of information to input into an automated system. A qualified typist is not required.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
