About the Position: Incumbent will perform cash out duties for patients and diners in the dinning facility located within the Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, NC. In addition to the cash out duties, incumbent will also perform food service support duties such as preparing food, stocking shelves, and maintaining food service supplies.
This position requires incumbent to work on a rotational shift schedule and work on weekends and holidays.
Duties
Operate an electronic cash register for dining food sales.
Replenish condiments, flatware, glassware and napkins for tables and serving lines.
Stock serving area refrigerator with beverages and food items.
Receive credit card and cash payments from customers.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
- This position may require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.
- This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position has been designated Weather Essential. In the event of inclement weather conditions, the incumbent is required to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. General Experience: Six months of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as operating an electronic cash register for dining food sales; performing a variety of food service and miscellaneous support for the dining facility.
OR
Education: One year of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 6. Then divide your semester hours of education by 30. Add the two percentages.
