This position is located in the Clinical Research Operations Program (CROP), Division of Allergy, Immunology and Transplantation (DAIT), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
There are several positions located within Division of Allergy, Immunology, and Transplantation (DAIT) and Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (DMID).
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.
- Employment is subject to the successful completion of the pre-appointment process (i.e., background investigation, verification of qualifications and job requirements, completion of onboarding forms, submission of required documents, etc.)
- Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.

Qualifications
To qualify for the Health Specialist GS-601 position, you must meet the following qualifications.
Education Requirement:
You must have a Bachelor's degree or graduate/higher level degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. (This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained).
To qualify for a Health Specialist GS-0601 at the GS-12 level:
You must have at least one year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: conducting epidemiology-related health research; managing and evaluating grant applications; preparing comprehensive reports of study results; preparing funding plans and evaluating progress reports for funded projects.
To qualify for the Health Specialist GS-0601 at the GS-13 level:
You must have at least one year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: planning, coordinating and implementing activities for epidemiology-related research programs; conducting initial scientific and administrative review of program project grant and training grant applications; assisting staff with grant related administrative activities including preparing funding plans and evaluating progress reports for funded projects; carrying out segments of complex studies covering a wide range of health topics.
