This position is an IT Specialist (APPSW/INET), GS- 2210-13, with the R9-Division of Budget and Technical Support. Duty location for this position is either Baileys Crossroads, VA, -or- Fort Collins, CO. Salary will be based upon duty location. See "Additional Information" for salary ranges by location.
Duties
As an IT Specialist (APPSW/INET) your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Lead the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Oversee all phases of the SDLC, from initial planning and requirement gathering to deployment and maintenance, ensuring that each phase is completed efficiently and effectively.
Code Review and Quality Assurance: Review the code of other developers to ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, policies, and procedures, providing constructive feedback and guidance to maintain high-quality code.
Custom Application Development: Develop necessary code for custom applications, ensuring that the solutions meet business requirements and are scalable, maintainable, and secure.
Integration Development and Testing: Develop and test integration solutions (such as IDSI) to ensure seamless data flow and interoperability between various systems and services.
Mentorship and Team Leadership: Mentor junior developers, providing technical guidance and support while fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment to achieve project goals and deliver high-quality software products.

In order to qualify for this position you must satisfy the Minimum Qualification.
Minimum Qualification [GS-13]
One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing work in or directly related to the position to be filled. Qualifying experience may include: (1) web services and API development experience for tabular and spatial data; web-based and desktop applications development and deployment experience; application integration experience; (2) reporting and data solutions for complex information management systems; managing a reporting framework; communicating with other data managers pertaining to data design and application; managing a data information system; (3) agile methodologies experience; and/or project management for a large complex data and decision support system.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
