This position is located within the Diagnostic Metrology & Labs (TEZT), Technical Services (TEZ) group of the Engineering and Technical Services (TE) organization in the Transmission Services (T) of Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). A successful candidate in this position will perform instrument calibration, repair, evaluation, acceptance testing, modification and fabrication, computer repair, computer-controlled testing, power system instrumentation, and system protection and control.

As an Instrumentation Craftsman I and II, you will:

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • This employer participates in the e-Verify program.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Suitable for Federal employment, as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • This position requires a pre-employment medical exam, at BPA expense, prior to appointment due to the physical requirements of the position.
  • Possess a valid state driver's license. Traffic citations indicating poor driving habits may disqualify applicants.
  • Become familiar with and follow the safety practices of the BPA Accident Prevention Manual.
  • If exposed to health hazards, have periodic physical examinations as prescribed by competent medical authority at BPA expense.
  • Possess an electrical worker's permit or obtain one within 90 days after appointment.
  • Possess within one year after appointment, and maintain continuously thereafter, a valid First Aid card and CPR card.
  • Subject to call for emergency work at any time.
  • Operate motor vehicles, including 1-1/2 ton pickups, sedans, snowmobiles, or van-type trucks. May be required to pull trailers for the transportation of instruments and equipment needed to perform tasks.
