This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This is a Supervisory Interdisciplinary, GS-14 position for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District and located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. For more information on USACE Tulsa District please click HERE.
Duties
You will be responsible for the supervision of the Natural Resources and Recreation Branch which encompasses the coordination and administration of all phases of technical work to support the District Operations and Maintenance mission.
Direct recreation and natural resources planning to include development of multiple use lake projects, locks and dams, and chloride control project
Manage functional specialists to ensure Operations Managers receive guidance and technical support for the recreation, natural resource, and cultural resource programs
Advise the Chief of Operations of corrective action or on unresolved problems
Perform oversight of the recreation fee program responsibilities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- You will be required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7--R.
- You may be required to complete an one year Supervisory probationary period.
- You must obtain all required training/certification within 24 months of appointment.
Qualifications
Position may be filled as a temporary appointment not to exceed one year , if candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three years.
A current Army employee with Competitive Status (tenure 1 or 2), accepts a time limited APPOINTMENT, they forfeit their permanent status and becomes subject to the provision of the term/temp APPOINTMENT.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of experience to include: 1)Arranging recreational development to include natural, cultural, and created resources for civil works AND 2) Administering natural resource management to include guidance, policies and regulations for outdoor recreation and environmental compliance AND 3) Evaluating Shoreline Management Plans for land use zoning, boat dock permits, and vegetative modification.
