You will serve as a CLINICAL COUNSELOR in the Behavioral Health Branch, Marine and Family Services Division of MCAS BEAUFORT SC.

Duties
You will serve as the clinical Specialist within the Behavioral Health program, Community counseling Center.
You will implement policies, conduct screening, clinical counseling services and case management, services for Behavioral Health Branch programs.
You will serve as the first point of contact for Behavioral Health Services for active duty Marines, retired military members, their families, and others as authorized by DoD Policy.
You will conduct psychosocial assessment with emphasis on diagnosis and recommendation for treatment.
You will apply established therapeutic techniques, principles, theories and methods screen, evaluate and provide counseling for clients as indicated by interviews and assessment.
You will administer an multi-modality comprehensive rehabilitation and treatment program to deal with Behavioral Health related issues.
You will plan, develop, and implement programs designed to support the Marine Corps Family with in the Community in order to foster positive and health relationships with the family structure, and to resolve family discord.
You will evaluate community resources to determine availability, applicability and best utilization of services for potential implementation Marine Corps wide.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- Incumbent may work fluctuating work schedule to complete work assignments outside of the typical work week and work hours to include weekends as necessary.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing counseling treatment, education, and awareness to military personnel and their families.

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements as outlined in SECNAVINST 1754.7A:
State or U.S. territory license or certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner.
When the state or U.S. territory licensing or certification requirements include a written examination, candidates for privileging, must have achieved a passing score on that examination.
Possess at least a master's degree in one of following clinical fields (You MUST submit an official or unofficial transcript):
Marriage and Family Therapy from a program accredited by Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education or an equivalent degree, OR
Social Work from a school accredited by Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) or an equivalent degree, OR
Psychology from a doctoral program approved by the American Psychological Association (APA).
4. Have engaged in 2 years, that includes at least 2,000 hours, full-time, post-masters supervised clinical experience (Experience MUST be substantiated in your resume). Two years post licensure, that includes at least 2,000 hours post licensure or 4,000 hours post graduate degree, full-time clinical experience in a clinical setting (Experience MUST be substantiated in your resume).REQUIRED CERTIFICATION OR LICENSES: Advocacy Clinical Counselor GS-0101-11: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). And meets USMC credentialing standards for independent licensure, Additionally, they must meet the criteria established by the TRICARE for Independent Provide Status, as well as maintain credentialing through HQMC.

Education
Applicants must meet the following basic education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual. Applicants must possess:
Degree in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to this position.
or
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
or
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on an equivalent combination of education and experience as follows:
3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree
or
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent.
