You will serve as a Supervisory Engineering Technician in the Maintenance, Engineering, and Industrial Operations Department (code 30), Heavyweight and Lightweight Torpedo Division (code 33), Torpedo Production Branch (code 331), at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Keyport, WA (NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA).
Duties
You will provide technical Heavyweight (HWT) or Lightweight (LWT) Torpedo leadership and coordination for HWT or LWT production, new hardware integration, complex system level troubleshooting, and new design initiatives.
You will provide information to higher-level supervisors in planning future requirements such as equipment, facilities, and other resources.
You will perform management and monitoring functions in support of projects, customer interface, and coordinating efforts ensuring customer requirements are met.
You will participate on Technology Program project teams and interface with internal and external customers, other divisions, other departments, and other activities.
You will provide input for policy development.
You will present briefings on program/project results.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- You may be required to monitor Explosive Operations, Otto Fuel or other industrial hazardous work.
- You may be exposed to strong odors or fumes from fuels or chemicals used in work processes.
- You may work near operating machinery or electrical hazards.
- You may work onboard ships at sea or onboard submerged submarines.
- You may be required to fly in small aircraft or float planes.
- You will be required to continually stay alert and to take special safety precautions, including wearing special personnel protective equipment and clothing.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 pay band (GS-09/10 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying a wide range of technical engineering methods (e.g., qualitative and quantitative, analytical and diagnostic techniques) in the production, hardware integration, or system level troubleshooting of Heavyweight (HWT) or Lightweight (LWT) torpedo weapon systems. Examples of Qualifying experience may include developing new or modified work methods, approaches, or procedures; providing comprehensive management advisory and technical services on substantive functions and practices; developing innovative methods, approaches, or procedures; identifying, evaluating, and recommending appropriate solutions to resolve complex interrelated problems and issues.
