About the Position: This position is located at Fort Moore in Muscogee, Georgia. Fort Moore covers more than 182,000 acres and is located southwest of the city of Columbus, Georgia. The installation makes up considerable portions of Muscogee and Chattahoochee counties in Georgia and also a small portion of Russell County, Alabama.

Duties

Perform a full range of Supervisory duties to include: assigning workload, creating project plans and providing technical guidance to employees within the Meal Program Department. Identify developmental and/or training needs of the department. Serve as the district Non-Appropriated Fund liaison to IMCOM NAFI for up to eight installations. Interpret DoDEA policies and procedures for implementation and assessment of the Student Meal Program. Serve as the Contract Officer Representative for Student Meal Program services and equipment. Implement and monitor Student Meal Program compliance with DoD policy directives and Federal regulations. Provide training to district Child Nutrition Directors in accordance with USDA requirements.

Requirements

  • Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
  • One year supervisory probation period may be required.
  • This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.
  • This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • You may be required to sign a transportation agreement.

For dietitian positions, the curriculum must have been in accordance with the qualifying requirements established by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)(external link) (formerly American Dietetic Association(external link) (ADA) prior to January 1, 2012) in effect at the time of graduation; OR Completion of a coordinated undergraduate program, internship, or other clinical component approved by AND (formerly ADA) for dietitians or nutritionists; OR Professional registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes: Developing and/or monitoring Student Meal Programs in accordance with state or federal policies, Monitoring the budget and financial processes for a student Meal Program, and providing first level Supervisory guidance such as: assigning work to subordinates, scheduling work projects or evaluating work. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Developing OthersFinancial ManagementStrategic ThinkingTechnical Credibility Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
