Duties

You will perform a full range of preventive and corrective maintenance work on numerous electronic systems supporting Air Traffic Control operations. You will diagnoses, isolates, and corrects malfunctions in daily system operations in accordance with various OPNAV instructions. You will maintain and align Air Traffic Control electronic systems to the mandated specifications required for successful commissioning and periodic Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) flight inspections. You will test, analyze, correct, and verify system performance for acceptance by Air Traffic Control personnel. You will assist in determining adjustments to periodic and corrective maintenance schedules and developing changes as needed in order to expedite corrective actions and alignments to optimize equipment availability and reliability. You will train and certify less skilled maintenance personnel.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to receive and maintain a Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification as well as administer CPR.
  • This position requires to successfully complete a physical examination.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing, testing, repairing, modifying, adjusting, diagnosing, tuning and certifying air traffic control navigational aids and landing systems.
