About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles south of Susanville, CA. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center. Employees work Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and childcare available. Mass transportation is available at minimal cost. Surrounding area boasts a full range of outdoor sports/recreation activities.

Duties

Coordinate all necessary actions and requirements for evaluating, developing, and implementing supply policies, procedures, and guidelines for property accountability. Perform inventory reconciliation, monitors custodial balances, requests physical inventories, and processes adjustments. Conduct studies in areas of special interest Develop alternative solutions for supply improvements.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• The incumbent may be required to go on Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) up to 5% of the time.
• This is a term position not to exceed 2 years. This appointment may be extended in increments of 2 years to a maximum of 8 years. Extensions are not guaranteed and are contingent upon budget and workload.
• Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Conducting reviews of supply transactions; 2) Analyzing property records to improve accountability; 3) Utilizing an automated supply system to enter, correct, or maintain data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: business management; finance; supply management; or business administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
