About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Office of the Chief of Staff of the Army, HQDA G-2 in the Pentagon, Arlington, VA.
Duties
Serves as the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS), G-2, the Senior Intelligence Officer for Army and Headquarters, Department of the Army Staff Principal for Military Intelligence.
Provides assistance and advice to all teammates within the administrative staff operations of G-2 and subordinate organizations.
Coordinates with the G-2 Executive Officer on a wide variety of engagements, projects and taskings from the Intelligence Community, OSD, Army and staff.
Provides managerial continuity on internal G-2 policies and procedures.
Provides administrative management and technical support duties in the form of calendar maintenance/scheduling, travel planning and coordination, and office supply management.
Contributes to an effective and positive public image and directly communicates with a wide range of high-level military and civilian government officials, industry, academia and civic leaders and others in the Intelligence Community.
Exercises broad discretion in developing responses to personal, semi-official, and official correspondence exercising care to incorporate the appropriate tenor, posture, phraseology tailored to the audience and subject matter.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two-year trial period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance based on an SSBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- Requires Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 10% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing administrative duties in direct support of senior executive level functions such as coordination of official travel, protocol, correspondence and records management, preparing calendars, communicating with personnel, preparing correspondence while operating with high degree of confidentially and protection. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11).
