The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the installation training (military OJT) specialist by administering, tailoring, delivering, evaluating, and managing training programs, activities and personnel.
Duties
Manages Military Training for the installation: Advises and assists base personnel on proper policies and procedures, corrective actions, and cost-effective training methods to ensure training needs are met.
As the military training specialist, recommends improvements to OJT programs and responds to requests for OJT support.
Develops and conducts UTM, additional duty training monitors and supervisory training sessions and base training meetings.
Oversees the base ancillary training program and manages the Total Force Awareness Training (TFA T)
program IA W AF/ 36-2201 am/ all applicable ancillary training directives from AF/Al.
Analyzes OJT data for trends in skills training and mandatory Career Development Course (CDC) enrollments,· and
processes CDC reactivations, reenrollments, waivers, and AFSC withdrawal packages.
Manages military technical training allocations and the selection process for no-name allocations to include Officer/Enlisted PME.
Performs ancillary duties as required.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, GS-1712 Series.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level (or higher) or equivalent in other pay systems. My experience demonstrates a practical knowledge of military training programs and objectives, military and civilian training program processes to develop comprehensive training programs, identify training requirements, skill upgrades, and development programs. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Work in weapons, weapon systems, airbase ground defense, and security that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.

EDUCATION: Successfully completed a Master's (or equivalent) graduate degree from an accredited college or university OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., with a major study in Education or a subject area related to the position of a Training Instructor. My education demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of a Training Instructor. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of military training programs and objectives, military and civilian training program processes or training program processes in parallel business and industry organizations in order to develop comprehensive training programs, identify training requirements, skill upgrades, and development programs that will assist in meeting the Air Force's training mission.
2. Knowledge of satellite, web-based or video teleconferencing systems and/or associated electronic equipment to support the DL program.
3. Knowledge of military organizational structure, protocol, and similar matters.
4. Skill in developing course materials and instructional methods, principles, and techniques in order to develop self-contained training
courses, obtain training resources and assess overall effectiveness in order to meet identified training requirements. Skill use of automation software and related equipment.
5. Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, to include the ability to deal with diverse populations from educationally
disadvantaged or vocationally underdeveloped to college graduates, is necessary.
6. Ability to instruct training courses in a classroom seminar setting.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
