About the Position: This position is located in the Operations Division with the US Army Corp of Engineers,Fort Worth District. Located in Lewisville, Texas.
Duties
Directs the development of plans for the operation, management and maintenance of the project's park and recreational facilities.
Oversees the maintenance and/or repair of embankments, uncontrolled and controlled spillways, shorelines, roads, parking areas, water treatment and distribution systems, sewage treatment systems, and recreation facilities.
Ensures that health and safety of project users are provided for at all times.
Directs the development and implementation of plans for the management of parks and recreation facilities in support of public use.
Directs the development and/or implementation Land Management Plans for regulation of private development and regulation of the use of project lands by adjacent property owners.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.

- Incumbent will be required to travel up to 25% of the time.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Basic Requirement for GS-0401 series:
A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience at the equivalent GS-12 level which includes performing at least three out of the following five duties: 1) Implement a variety of Natural Resources Management or protection programs to include; fish and wildlife management, soil conservation, vegetation management, fire protection, cultural resources protection, and/or resolution of encroachments on public lands; OR 2) apply natural resource management regulations pertaining to endangered species, wetland protection and/or cultural resources; OR 3) lead a Natural Resources Management or recreational program team in the distribution of workload and/or completion of tasks in accordance with established work flow; OR 4) administer contracts for the operation and maintenance of flood control and/or recreation facilities; OR 5) provide annual and/or long term budget planning for multiple projects in support of a Natural Resource or recreational program.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
