Duties
Typical work assignments include:
Plans and conducts a variety of comprehensive, complex and sensitive/classified projects and studies that encompass the analysis and evaluation of critical infrastructure protection and resilience efforts.
Receives information and materials requests from regional field leadership and regional security advisor cadre and assists field leadership in completing appropriate request forms.
Supports the Regional Director and regional personnel during planning and execution of incident response, including drills or simulations.
Develops and implements guidance and standing operating procedures and advises the Regional Director and senior management of the status of programs to reduce and mitigate regional risks.
Qualifications
To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying.
You qualify for the GS-12 grade level, if you have:
EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level (or equivalent) performing the following duties:
Ability to efficiently share information, build partnerships, and educate stakeholders, both verbally and in written communication; and
Independently carry out programmatic tasks and duties with little to no oversight; and
Ability to successfully work in a team environment, utilize Microsoft 365 Apps, and collaborate on different levels; and
Experience in preparedness activities that include planning, training, and exercise.
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level, if you have:
EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level (or equivalent) performing the following duties:
Ability to efficiently share information, build partnerships, and educate stakeholders, both verbally and in written communication; and
Independently carry out programmatic tasks and duties with little to no oversight; and
Ability to successfully work in a team environment, utilize Microsoft 365 Apps, and collaborate on different levels; and
Experience in preparedness activities that include planning, training, and exercise.
Organize and coordinate engagements; and
Collect, analyze, and report data.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying).
