This position is located in the Field Operations Directorate, Office of Field Operations, Investor Program Office (IPO).
As a Supervisory Auditor, you will coordinate, implement, and oversee audit related activities that impact the Investor Program Office (IPO).
Duties
Serve as principal advisor to the Audit Team, performing a full range of supervisory functions over forensic auditors, both administrative and technical in nature. Plan and implement audit program operations, goals, and objectives.
Direct the day-to-day operations of the Audit Team. Participate and engage with Compliance Division and IPO Leadership and employees on the overall strategic direction of the Audit Team.
Assign and oversee Audit Team activities such as financial and other data entry, noncompliance and industry operations inspections, or fraud investigations.
Direct forensic accounting and audit operations, organize staff, and determine necessary resources to achieve objectives of the audit program within the confines of annual resources such as budget, manpower, and information technology.
Lead critically complex, sensitive audits. Liaise and coordinate with external partners and prosecuting attorneys regarding the strategy and progress of cases, as well as attendant priorities.
Provide advice on approaches to present cases based upon forensic accounting aspects involved, attendant violations, and regarding critical scope matters.
Qualifications

Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 08/05/2024.
Basic Requirements: All applicants must meet the following basic requirements (must be supported in Transcripts from an accredited institution, Resume and/or Applicable Certificate):
Basic Requirements for Financial Auditors and Attestation Auditors
Degree: Accounting, auditing; or a degree including auditing courses in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.
OR
Combination of education and experience: At least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality. This can include up to 6 hours of business law; A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination; or Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in accounting or auditing, e.g., 15 semester hours, but that does not fully satisfy the 24-semester-hour requirement of paragraph A, provided that: (a) the applicant has successfully worked at the full-performance level in accounting, auditing, or a related field, e.g., valuation engineering or financial institution examining; (b) a panel of at least two higher level professional accountants or auditors has determined that the applicant has demonstrated a good knowledge of accounting and of related and underlying fields that equals in breadth, depth, currency, and level of advancement that which is normally associated with successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in paragraph A; and (c) except for literal nonconformance to the requirement of 24 semester hours in accounting, the applicant's education, training, and experience fully meet the specified requirements.
GS-14: You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Planning, directing, and reviewing the work of a staff responsible for conducting internal controls assessments and audits;
Developing, monitoring, and overseeing an audit program to ensure compliance with financial laws and regulations;
Conducting financial audits for the purpose of monitoring for compliance with applicable laws and regulations, or in support of a civil or criminal proceeding;
Developing and or modifying audit program operations and procedures based on risk-ranking methodology;
Testing and examining internal, financial, and management controls to assure compliance with accounting and auditing principles, standards and regulations.
