Duties

Perform Unit level maintenance and support for systems including: radiology, laboratory, patient monitoring, or pulmonary. Conduct preventive maintenance inspections of medical equipment including: visual, electrical safety, calibration, parts verification, and parts replacements. Manage the maintenance shop operations including scheduling, performing, and documenting medical maintenance services. Focus on quality aspects of biomedical maintenance processes based on an effective quality management program, such as ISO 9001. Manage all medical equipment-related Medical Materiel Quality Control incidents, recalls, and warnings. Perform software diagnosis to determine failures between software and hardware and make corrections. Utilize Army property accounting and maintenance database systems to track work assignments. Search database systems and organizes information to create statistical trends.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This position has a travel requirement of 30% of Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position has been designated as Emergency Essential. It is an overseas position; position ensures success of combat operations or supports essential combat systems after a mobilization, evacuation order, or other military crisis.
  • This position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment (NACI) (Tier 1).

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18.
