You will serve as a Secretary (Office Automation) for the Commander and Chief Staff Officer at Navy Reserve Region Readiness and mobilization Command Fort Worth.

Duties

You will review and direct incoming classified and unclassified correspondence to responsible Front Office Staff. You will draft routine correspondence concerning acknowledgements, endorsements, etc. You will make all necessary arrangements for the Commander and Chief Staff Officer for travel. You will maintain office files for the Commander and Chief Staff Officer. You will counsel departmental officials as well as lower rated secretaries and assistants in office procedures and proper correspondence preparation on a weekly basis. You will arrange schedules of visits, make transportation and hotel reservations, notify organizations and officials of scheduled visit, and submit travel claims upon their return.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination
  • Overtime maybe required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Specialized experience is defined as: Experience with protocol etiquette to properly deal with a variety of high level senior military of civilian employees. Experience reviewing publications and directives for correct grammar and spelling punctuation. Experience preparing charts, graphs, slides, and other visual aids used in executive level briefing. Experience using word processing software to prepare and edit text. Experience advising other secretaries in subordinate offices of new procedures and regulations. Experience maintaining high ranking officials calendars.
