About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 470th Military Intelligence Brigade, 717th Military Intelligence Battalion, located at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.

Duties

Operates as a one-deep position and serves as advisor to the Commander on all matters related to resource management functions, budgeting functions, financial accountability and analysis, and accounting for appropriated funds. Performs duties of a budget administration, accounting, program management, and managerial controls for the battalion and its parent brigade Resource Management Office (RMO). Serves as the Brigade Defense Travel System (DTS) reviewer and maintains the Brigade’s DTS program.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain active Top Secret security clearance based on a single-scope background investigation (SSBI) with sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • TDY may constitute up to 5% of the time.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position designated as such in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, section 1051.
  • Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program.
  • This certification requirement is a condition of employment for this position. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GG/GS-07) or work performed which is equivalent to the GG/GS-08 grade level outside the federal service.
