This position is located in the Washington, DC Commuting Area in the Office of Security, at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
Duties
Perform information security functions including classification and declassification management, destruction, safeguarding, storage, transportation and transmission, and security incidents.
Assist with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) by preparing, reviewing and making recommendations for DD Form 254s, and develop and recommend security policy, procedures and directives for program implementation.
Assist with the Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) program administration to include validation of SCI access requirements, conduct SCI security briefings, obtain signed Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and properly safeguard SCI material.
Conducts studies, surveys, inspections, and periodic reviews to measure compliance with existing policies and procedures and the adequacy of measures intended to reduce or minimize susceptibilities and vulnerabilities.
Assists with the development and execution of USAIDs Security policies, guidelines, and procedures.
Assists with briefings and meetings relative to security matters pertinent to the program areas of responsibility.
Requirements

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- Males born after 12/31/1959, must be registered with the Selective Service.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience:
GS-11: One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis at the next lower level for this position which includes: a) Worked with clients or customers to assess their needs, provided information or assistance, to resolve problems; b) Expressed information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information; c) Thorough when performing work and conscientious about attention to detail; or d) Assisted with training programs in compliance with federal law, regulations, and agency or organizational policies.
To qualify based on education:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree;
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree;
or
LL.M., if related
