As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.This position is located in the Air Traffic Organization (ATO), Safety and Technical Training, Policy and Performance Directorate, Safety Management Group.

Duties

The Program Manager applies detailed knowledge of the technical aspect of the Safety Management System (SMS) and as well as knowledge of management and program principles to direct a geographically dispersed staff consisting of air traffic control specialists, engineers and technical specialists through ad hoc multidisciplinary teams. Integrates the work of multiple projects to meet ATO strategic goals by revising and updating the SMS Manual. This is a major national program that is critical to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Safety and Technical Training Service Unit, and the ATO. The work and directly impacts the safe and efficient operation of the ATO.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-J, FG/GS-14 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.Specialized experience is defined as:Experience reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating projects to ensure alignment with organizational mission and goals.Experience planning, organizing, coordinating, and scheduling safety risk management project(s).Experience implementing and managing project(s) changes and interventions to ensure schedules and deliverables are met.You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history.
