The position is located in the Veterans Health Administration of the Department of Veterans Affairs at the Detroit VA Medical Center in the Group Practice Management Service Line. The primary purpose of this position is to perform Management and Program Assistant duties, responsible for providing a high level of complex and highly skilled administrative and data support related to clinic profile management.
Duties
Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
This includes but is not limited to: oversight for clinic profiles/scheduling grids. Personnel assigned to this role fill a Clinic Profiler position responsible for ensuring accurate creation, validation, and inactivation of clinic profiles. Incumbent is responsible for service/section level clinical data reporting as requested, accurate and timely data retrieval pertaining to clinic management, providing technical advice and guidance as necessary to assist services with troubleshooting clinic profile management. Incumbent shall review reports, records and statistical computations for accuracy and propriety for clinic profile management.
The Incumbent is responsible for reinforcing in-depth training for services as necessary to ensure staff are properly educated and accountable for clinical data management. Individual will also serve as the primary clinic builder for all Services/Sections levels within the facility.
The Incumbent is involved in a complex blend of computing technology, medical information, communication skills, and leadership qualities in a rapidly changing environment.
The incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of new clinic establishment in VistA and provide guidance to the services for clinic set ups and groupings in VSE.
The Incumbent will own the entire workflow process for clinic cancellations and provide guidance for all services and will work in close collaboration with the Clinical Operation Director and GPM regarding requests for outpatient clinic cancellations in under
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/01/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education s described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-6 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Working experience with clerical and administrative duties; customer service; planning and accomplishing a variety of difficult and complex work assignments; receiving, reading and reviewing all incoming correspondence and determining appropriate action; collecting, compiling and tracking data and information; processing documents and reports; establishing, updating and maintaining office files and records; experience conducting analytical reviews; providing a broad range of administrative program support; using various software systems (excel, word and outlook); using devices such as computers and printers to fully do one's job; and using various forms; reviewing and developing reports, and formatting to complete administrative requirements.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, but does require some walking, bending, stooping, standing, stretching, and carrying moderately heavy items such as but not limited to: manuals, documents, office supplies, and/or data file reports. Work also involves spending a significant amount of time performing keyboard data entry and prolonged periods of data review via computer monitor. Concentration and sustained performance under prolonged stress may be required due to time factors involved in completion of work assignments within specified deadlines.
