This position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Mid Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6), Hampton VA Medical Center (VAMC), in the Maintenance and Repair Section of Engineering Services. The primary duties of this position include maintenance and repairs of heating ventilation air condition and refrigeration.

Physical Requirements: Frequently carries and sets up parts and equipment that weigh up to 50 pounds. Hoists, holders, and pulleys are operated when removing such items as large compressors. Makes repairs that involve frequently hard to reach places that require scaffolding. Long periods of stooping, stretching, bending and kneeling. Working Conditions: Occasionally required to work in drafty attic spaces, and in cramped areas with low overheads. Subject to escaping gases when making emergency repairs.
