Organizational Location: These positions are located in the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Office of Principal Legal Advisor (OPLA), in Annandale, Virginia, Houston, Texas, New York, New York, San Francisco, California, and Sterling, Virginia.
These are bargaining unit positions that are not currently covered by a bargaining unit agreement.

Salary: The salary range indicated in this announcement reflects the lowest and highest potential salaries for this position. You qualify for the GS-08 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
Gathering information from numerous sources to prepare case files for court proceedings;
Performing basic research by reviewing and analyzing case materials;
Performing support functions related to tracking and managing court dockets (i.e., maintaining calendars and reminding attorneys of court appearances and deadlines); and
Assisting attorneys in preparing memoranda, basic motions and/or appeals.
Typing Proficiency: In addition to the above minimum qualification requirements, applicants must be able to type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample, with three or fewer errors. You may self-certify your proficiency in your resume/application package.
