About the Position: You will serve as a Records and Information Management Specialist within the Directorate of Human Resources, Administrative Services Division, assists with programs and support records management, distribution management, Installation Publications and Forms and the Publications Stockroom on Fort Carson, Colorado.

Duties

Provide guidance on proper procedures for safeguarding and managing the emergency files. Ensure the vital records are stored in a secure place for easy access in an emergency. Oversee reference center of publications and forms to assure that publications are kept up to date. Develop and conduct records management training for agency and staff. Provides records management technical expertise to the organization in developing, testing and monitoring of records and disaster recovery program. Utilize software programs such as Army Forms Management software to create local forms. Provide training to personnel on creating and maintaining records electronically to include web based system for records management.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 45 lbs. [some in excess of 45 lbs.] in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrated experience coordinating records management training for agency and staff; analyzing manual and automated record keeping systems for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and other implementing publications; editing publications, AND analyzing and providing recommendations to resolve or improve procedures concerning the Records Information Management (RIM) program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Records Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
