About the Position: Serves as a Television Production Specialist with overall responsibility for the satisfactory development of video productions in support of the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Headquarters Department of the Army and other Federal Agencies as directed.

Duties

Utilize Adobe Cloud and AVID editing systems. Revise and refine scripts based on feedback and performance metrics. Evaluate project requirements for suitability and technical feasibility. Check sets and lighting to ensure that all elements are correct.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • TDY is approximately 10% of time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Applicant may be required to provide a portfolio and samples of work product; i.e. Video Reels and Edit Reels may be requested during interview process.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes producing audiovisual products using different production methods and techniques; developing scripts and visual formats; programming audiovisual equipment/ and or operating systems such as Adobe Creative Cloud and AVID. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to this position such as Media Management, or a closely-related Communication field. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications and MediaMultimedia TechnologiesQuality Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-???????09).
