Duties

You will serve as a SUPV Facilities Operations Specialist in the Power Plant (N4) at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic (NCTAMS LANT) Detachment in Cutler, Maine. You will manage and supervise operations, maintenance and repairs for VLF Broadcast Commercial Power Distribution and stand-by power production equipment. You will serve as the Weight Handling Equipment Program Manager responsible for maintenance, repairs, inspections, alterations, load testing, personnel and equipment certifications. You will manage funds to support all maintenance and repair programs. You will develop and implement management control policies and procedures. You will provide direct input and information during meetings and conferences with engineering and other personnel involving long and short-term planning for upgrade and repair of power plant facilities, equipment, and weight handling equipment. You will ensure inventory and custody of shop tools, equipment and minor property account items are maintained.

Qualifications

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: -Experience managing and supervising operations, maintenance and repairs for a VLF Broadcast Commercial power distribution and stand-by power production equipment. -Experience planning and performing preventive and corrective maintenance, operation, inspection, repair and overhaul of diesel engines and generators. -Experience identifying future requirements, upgrades, potential problems, and work requirements for accomplishment of all work. -Experience initiating purchase requests and action for replacement equipment as required. This position is within the Work Category SUPERVISION AND MANAGEMENT at Work Level FULL PERFORMANCE, Series and Grade GG-1640-12. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Individual Occupational Requirements
Undergraduate or Graduate Education with a major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration.
