About the Position: The Anchorage MEPS is a part of a network of 65 MEPS located nationwide and in Puerto Rico. The mission of USMEPCOM and the Anchorage MEPS is to process individuals for enlistment or induction into the armed services, based on DoD-approved peacetime and mobilization standards.

Duties

Conduct test inventories and ensure testing facilities meet security guidelines. Reports expected completion times for various work tasks regarding work the section. Provides supervisory oversight of the overall testing administration in the field that leads to the qualification of applicants. Responsible for implementing policies and procedures for administering Testing Program. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities. Hears and resolves complaints from employees. Ensures test results are committed in the regulated systems. Implement and update annual training programs. Obtains feedback on processing improvement initiatives for the Testing Program

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position requires Regular evening and weekend work.
  • Position requires frequent local and occasional temporary duty (TDY) business travel required.
  • Position requires a valid driver’s license.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Using automated systems to administer tests; developing testing schedule; Developing Testing Standard Operating Procedures; leading personnel; safeguarding and accounting for controlled test materials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management or Business related fields of study. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education ManagementIntegrity/HonestyOral CommunicationTechnical Credibility Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
