The incumbent serves as a IT System Administrator within the Office of Chief Information Officer. The incumbent will support IT Infrastructure operations, ensuring the management of servers, storage, software applications, etc. The role shall support planning, implementation of system administration activities and lifecycle sustainment to develop process and procedures, as well as provide technical assistance in areas data backup & integrity, system failover & recovery.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-11 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility.
Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: experience conducting the full spectrum of lifecycle management from development to sustainment of production systems; Knowledge of IT systems, concepts, principle, and operational practices to include polices and regulations; Experience with IT system implementation and operational environment; Good communication skills to be able to discuss IT requirements with technical and non-technical personnel.

System Administration-Administer Information Technology systems to ensure effective system operation.
Information Technology Configuration Management- Plan, implement, track and/or evaluate configuration/requirement changes across the enterprise and organizations.
Information Technology Test and Evaluation- Test, monitor and evaluate Information Technology technologies during design, development, procurement and/or implementation to ensure internal and external requirements are met.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
