Duties
Serve as a Security Specialist for the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) with a multi-discipline focus.
Incumbent may serve as a DEVCOM Trusted Agent Security Manager (TASM), Trusted Agent (TA), Foreign Disclosure Representative (FDR), and the commands General Service Administration (GSA) Safe Inspector.
As a DEVCOM Security Program Manager, incumbent administers all facets of assigned programs to include inspections/assessments, training, and education, security and suitability determinations, and policy development.
Manages the DEVCOM security programs in the areas of Information, Industrial and Personnel Security.
Ensures all classified material is reviewed, downgraded, destroyed, and kept to a minimum in accordance with appropriate regulations and directives.
Conducts inspections, investigations, and surveys to identify and correct discrepancies in security programs.
Responsible for organizational security awareness, education, training, and implementation of assigned multi-discipline security programs.
Command GSA Safe Inspector, physically changes safe combinations, certifies safes for storage and oversees the general management of all security containers in the command.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Top Secret/Special Sensitive clearance and background investigation required.
- Pre-employment and random thereafter drug testing required.
- Temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 5% of the time.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain SPeD Certification - Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
- A one-year probationary period may be required if not already completed in accordance with 5 CFR criteria.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Managing security programs in the areas of Information, Industrial and/or Personnel security; 2) Developing Information, Industrial and/or Personnel security policies, procedures, and reports for an organization; AND
3) Compose guidance and train the staff on organizational security programs, policies, and practices.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
