You will serve as a FIREFIGHTER (BASIC LIFE SUPPORT) in the Fire Department of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA.
Duties
You will conduct inspection, cleaning and maintenance of fire department equipment, apparatus and fire hydrants.
You will transport patients to the hospital and complete patient care reports.
You will conduct and attend fire department training as assigned while utilizing department equipment, training apparatus and visual aid.
You will respond to Hazardous Material/CBRNE incident and take part in mitigating associated hazards.
You will work the paramedic on scene to help facilitate advanced life support patient care.
Requirements

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- This position requires rotating shift work.

- This is a bargaining unit position.

- GS-07 : You will be required to possess and maintain a current Airport Firefighter by the Department of Defense (DoD), International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or ProBoard.
- GS-07: You will be required to possess and maintain a current Firefighter I and II by the Department of Defense (DoD), International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or ProBoard.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- GS-07: You will be required to possess and maintain a National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification or State of Arizona EMT Certification.

Qualifications
GS-07:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing duties as part of an emergency response team with tasks involving delivery of emergency services during fire, medical rescue, mass casualty, natural disaster, hazardous material spills, or acts of terrorism or responding to specialty/technical rescue assignments.
GS-05:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing duties as part of an emergency response team with tasks involving delivery of emergency services during fire, medical rescue, mass casualty, natural disaster, or hazardous material spills.

Education
The following education can be substituted for specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:
Successfully completed a 4-year course of study in an accredited college of university with major study in Fire Science, Fire Training, or related fields of study.
OR
Possess a combination of specialized experience and education that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal 100 percent.
