This position is located within the Drug Dependency Unit adjacent to the Omaha/Winnebago Service Unit located in Winnebago, NE. The content of these services ranges from admission, crisis intervention, education, client referral, discharge planning in assisting clients with any changes in social roles, future expectations, and life goals precipitated by changes in health status.

Duties

Designs, implements and administers culturally sensitive family therapy to residents and their families during the residents' stay at the GPADDU. The incumbent provides and documents therapeutic and other clinical services to include individualized treatment and discharge/aftercare plans. The incumbent will attend and participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, provide updates to staff about family treatment, help staff both track and ensure residents appropriate progress in treatment Provides consultation and training to staff members and the community in family assessment, dynamics, and treatment to GPADDU, IHS, and the community.

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Social Work Series 0185 (opm.gov) Individual Occupational Requirements Basic Requirements: Degree: social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Master's degree with practicum: Applicants who complete all of the requirements for a master's degree in social work that included a practicum are eligible for GS-9. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-11: 1 year of specialized experience that equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service as described in the vacancy announcement. Examples include: Provides drug and alcohol/mental health assessments and treatment plans; designs, implements and administers individual and group therapy; coordinates intake and aftercare services; documents therapeutic and clinical services. Provides brief interventions and makes proper referrals; intervenes in high risk situations. Selective Placement Factor: Must possess a current, unrestricted U.S. State license as an independent Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) or equivalent as identified through the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
