As a PROJECT MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-0301-14, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day technical expertise, advice, and consultation on a range of health policy initiatives that cut across CMS and impact CCSQ work as it carries out the CCSQ and CMS goals and strategic objectives.
Duties
Serves as a project and program coordinator, providing the (CCSQ) with expert analysis and evaluation of health-care related programs and policies, management practices and work operations that have a nation-wide impact.
Provide expert knowledge of health care systems processes methods to implement, evaluate, and improve programs including consolidating metrics, convening, and engaging multi-stakeholders’ groups, and aligning goals and priorities
Represents the Center at briefings, hearings and other meetings throughout CMS and at other levels in Government regarding the justification and approval of specific healthcare-related issues.
Researches and prepares presentations and speeches for the Chief Deputy Medical Officer and also Senior Clinicians as appropriate on health care issues impacting CMS, HHS, and other Federal programs.
Direct technical assistance provided to teams for entities seeking participation in CCSQ Behavioral Health Programs.

In order to qualify for the GS-14, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: (1) Utilizing project management principles/skills to complete large-scale projects to improve healthcare quality and access; (2) Collaborating with internal and/or external stakeholders on program and health policy operations; AND (3) Preparing a variety of written products on health policy and strategy (i.e., presentations, briefings, speeches, etc.) for use by leadership.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
