About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate of Training and Leader Development, U.S. Army Engineer School, Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, bordering Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive east and Springfield is a 1-hour drive west of Fort Leonard Wood.

Duties

Represent the division as an engineer training technical consultant for key officials, boards, and military and civilian staff and faculty Incumbent reviews training devices, technical manuals, and other items for technical soundness and prepares recommendations for corrections. Maintain test item data banks and audit trails Ensure the consistency of training and education products by coordinating with other training developers, instructors in the training brigades, NCO Academy, and academic departments, and other education and training personnel and agencies. Provide advice and assistance on the various practical aspects of general engineering and engineer systems training based on extensive knowledge of current guidance.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires that the employee occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 5% of the time.
• The work is mostly sedentary and performed primarily in an office setting. There may be however, some amount of standing and/or walking required to observe training at the training sites.
• Observations at training sites are conducted in all types of weather, but during daylight hours. Some training sites are unimproved with no flushable toilets available.
• Work may necessitate incumbent to wear clothes appropriate for an outdoor training area.
• A SECRET clearance must be obtained and maintained for this position.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
