Duties

Skilled in the maintenance and minor repair of machines, tools and equipment used in munitions maintenance Provides guidance to workforce personnel on organization policies and standard operating procedures. Knowledges of galvanometers, voltmeters or other simple test meters for electrical circuits. Ensures work in progress is compliant with supervisor's instructions according to established procedures. Ensures that machines and tools are being used properly spot-checking work for compliance. Assures safety and housekeeping rules are followed.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires incumbent to operate a forklift with lifting capacity up to 15,000 pounds. The incumbent must obtain and maintain a forklift license.
  • This position requires the incumbent to comply with the Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements. This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP), governed by AR 600-85, subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.
  • This position requires the incumbent to satisfactorily complete and pass the annual Medical Examination administered by the Anniston Army Depot.
  • This position has Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility responsibilities and requires successful completion of training IAW ANAD's RCRA permit.
  • This position requires the incumbent to meet the requirements of AMC-R 350-4, Training and Certification Program for Personnel Working in Ammunition Operations.
  • This position requires the incumbent to successfully meet and maintain the requirements of the Physical Security of Arms, Ammunitions and Explosives IAW AR 190-11.
  • This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
  • This position is subject to the Lautenberg amendment to the gun control act of 1968 which makes it a felony for anyone who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence to ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms or ammunition.
  • Applicants selected will be required to sign a DA 5019 (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as Critical under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program)

Prepare munitions for storage and shipping. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint Reading)Ability to Lead or SuperviseDexterity and SafetyKnowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair, etc.Knowledge of MaterialsTechnical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic)Use of Measuring Instruments PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires walking, bending, reaching, crouching, standing, sitting and frequent lifting of weights up to 40 pounds. There is pushing and pulling of items and some assignments require the lifting of items weighing over 40 pounds. Incumbent must pass physical examination requirements due to exerting unusual physical effort in various working environments. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is usually performed in buildings that have some heat, are well lighted and ventilated. Incumbent works on hard surface and occasionally works outside where there is exposure to weather extremes. There is exposure to dirt, dust, grease, toxic agents, fumes from spray painting operations and noise from machines and power conveyors. Incumbent is exposed to possibility of flash fires and explosions, which could cause serious injury, dismemberment, or loss of life. There is also possibility of burns, mashed fingers, broken extremities and other serious accidents. Wears such safety equipment as safety shoes, glasses, goggles, face shield, flameproof coveralls and respirator as necessary.
