This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Fort Drum, the home of the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), is located in Northern New York.
Duties
Perform quality assurance (QA) on functions for a variety of services, facility systems, and construction contracts.
Inspect facilities at assigned installation for defects.
Submit maintenance orders for contractors to repair and/or replace damaged components.
Ensure contractors are in compliance with trade practices, contract requirements, plans, specifications, and compliance with the design requirements, and that the costs of the contracts are not exceeded.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This is a seasonal position.
- A probationary period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing quality assurance of construction projects such as: inspection of materials, quality of work, review of as-built drawings, and completion of work; 2) Inspecting infrastructure to assess necessary work for maintenance orders; 3) Inspecting operations for safety compliance of construction projects such as: general, horizontal, and vertical construction.
