About the Position: The position is with the San Diego Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). The mission of the U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM), and the MEPS, is to process individuals for enlistment or induction into 5 branches of military Service (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard).
This is a permanent position.
Duties
Report ASVAB test results to high schools to facilitate individual and school career planning.
Ensure all test scheduling materials are sent to schools in accordance with regulations.
Present a variety of educational topics (i.e. testing, test release options, new recruiter, etc.) to members of the community for better understanding of the program.
Interpret and provide guidance of policy relating to applicant test eligibility.
Provide support for school officials and recruiters regarding student testing.
Implement all aspects of the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) Career Exploration Student Testing Program (STP) in compliance with established requirements.
Maintain the command database of school information.
Compile data to draft technical papers.
Maintain office files and handling of sensitive material.
Provide technical guidance regarding compliance of testing procedures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires evening and weekend work as required.
- Frequent local travel and occasional temporary duty(TDY)business travel is required approximately 15% of the time.
- Must be in possession of or have ability to obtain a driver's license.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or specialized experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves scheduling school testing sessions with school officials; Marketing student testing programs; Conducting pre-test or post-test briefings for assigned schools; Conducting periodic inventories for materials and supplies; Compiling test results and/or information into a centralized reporting system; Extracting data and/or applying data gathering techniques to create reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business; Business Administration; or education that is directly related to the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
