THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1414P01 and is part of the KS 184 Intelligence Wing, Kansas Air National Guard.

Duties

As a Logistics Management Specialist, GS-0346-12, you will serve as the Logistics Officer with responsibility for overall program management, direction, and control of wing logistics planning that includes multiple units and may include geographically separated units where no logistics management personnel are assigned. The primary purpose of this position is to manage, direct, develop and implement policy programs and procedures for the accurate management of Wing Logistics planning. Serves as the Logistics Officer/Specialist and provides administrative and technical oversight to a lower-graded specialist. This position is responsible for fully prepared, assigned unit personnel and equipment for Aerospace Expeditionary Force/Wing (AEF/AEW) Operations around the world. Perform other duties as assigned. This position is located in the Plans and Integration Section of the Deployment and Distribution Flight, Logistics Readiness Squadron, Mission Support Group, at an ANG Wing.

• KANSAS NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
• This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
• Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
• Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
• Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
• May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
• Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a minimum of Secret security clearance of the position.
• May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments.
• Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
• Required to handle and safeguard sensitive, personal, and/or classified or information covered under privacy act laws in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
• This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

• This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing. Pre-employment drug testing and participation in random drug testing is a condition of employment.

Qualifications

Military Grades:O1 through O3 Compatible Military Assignments: 21R GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training identifying activities involving logistical support operations. Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan. Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan. Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions. Experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to elicit their cooperation to perform specific tasks, and complying with regulations, laws, or practices PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is sedentary and normally performed in an office setting. Walking or standing occurs in connection with travel to and from attendance at meetings and conferences. No special physical effort is required to perform the work. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is generally performed in a well-heated, well-lighted, well-ventilated office setting. Normal everyday risks are encountered in going to and from offices and buildings and in traveling by military or commercial transportation.
