The position is organizationally aligned under the Data Acquisition and Analytics Service (DAAS). Incumbent serves as Program Specialist for the DAAS at the James A Haley VA Medical Center and its community based outpatient clinics (CBOCs). Responsible for data extraction as it relates to analyzing and recommending decisions related to costs, revenue, staffing and workload for the healthcare organization.
Duties
Major Duties Included (but not limited to):
Proactively work with JAHVH leaders to identify needs and develop information products to meet those needs.
Evaluate processes and make recommendations for effective organizational and process changes.
Apply computer science methods and techniques to store, manipulate, and transform information by means of computer systems.
Utilize common data reports and apply analysis to improve SAIL quality and efficiency measures.
Influence a variety of stakeholders to include clinical and administrative executive leadership, service chiefs, and front line staff through effective communication.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30 pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/01/2024.
GS-12 Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
GS-12 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Independently research problems, issues, program requirements providing advice on solutions.
Analyze and synthesize data from diverse data sources producing reports to display information in a variety of formats.
Collect relevant data from many varied sources.
Provide expert analysis and advice on complex program issues.
Evaluate processes making recommendations for effective organizational and process changes.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary with some walking and standing in conjunction with attendance at meetings and conferences. The incumbent may carry light items such as papers, books, or small computer components. The work does not require any special physical effort considerations.
