Administrative Support Assistant performs administrative and office management activities in support of direct safety mission operations lead by staff. Assist in safety support operations such as time and attendance; travel/fleet/facilities management; property & supply inventory accountability; procurement execution; budget reconciliation, application, or data record, to include report preparation, data entry & financial analysis. Carry out non-technical safety activities, as needed.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must (1) meet the Education Requirement for the series, (2) provide a copy of transcripts for verification, AND (3) meet either the education or experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.
To qualify for the GS-07, you must have at least one year of equal or equivalent experience equal to the GS-06, which includes:
Experience in compiling information for weekly or monthly activity reports.
Experience establishing and/or updating tracking or records/database management systems
Experience using word processing software to prepare a variety of documents.
To qualify for the GS-08, you must have at least one year of equal or equivalent experience equal to the GS-07, which includes:
Experience performing office management functions, ordering supplies and equipment, using spreadsheet and other software to keep records of expenditures and other administrative functions.

Education
Education: High school graduation or the equivalent is creditable at the GS-2 level for the occupations listed, except Clerk-Stenographer, where it is creditable at the GS-3 entry level.
Successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite is creditable at grades GS-3 through GS-5 for all positions except Reporting Stenographer, GS-5. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.
