Responsible for the lodging of patients; delivers exceptional customer service, while facilitating the check in process for all lodging patients.

Duties

Incumbents will exercises excellent customer service, resourcefulness, initiative and sound judgment in carrying out the following duties and responsibilities: Serving as a central point of contact to provide explanations of requirements, regulations, and procedures in the Lodging area. Provides direction in the registration, clearances, and discharge process. Maintaining calendars and coordinates reception of mail, and telephone calls to ensure a smooth flow of business.. Initiates contact for medical and /or psychiatric emergencies. Conducts tours of the lodging facility, and conducts safety rounds of the area. Provides administrative support to lodgers. Orders supplies and linens. Provides support to assigned areas when there are no lodgers, according to limitations. Performs other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 12:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. Hours may be rotated or extended based on the needs of the Medical Center and our Veterans. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements (if applicable) listed in the job announcement. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-4 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-3. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. General Experience - 1-Year - Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled and/or Education 2-years above high school. Physical Requirements: The incumbent's work is mostly sedentary; however, some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light to medium weight items is required.
