You will serve as a Electronics Industrial Controls Mechanic in the Crane Maintenance Division (Code 730) of the Lifting and Handling Department (Code 700) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, test and install industrial electronic controlled equipment. You will work on microprocessors, computers and associated peripheral equipment. You will align and calibrate equipment using calibration standards and alignment procedures. You will test, repair, and replace components and parts such as resistors, capacitors, transistors, diodes, integrated circuits, regulated power supplies, etc. You will use various types of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic testers, digital counters, electronic voltmeters, frequency/signal generators, transistor/diode testers, vacuum tube tester, capacitor tester, etc.

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• Must have color vision to distinguish basic colors to trace color coded circuitry or determine component values through color codes, circuits, and wiring.
