About the Position: The Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) is the Army's technology leader. Duties

Conduct inquiries into a wide range of complaints and requests for assistance to recommend appropriate and conclusive action. Develop, coordinate, and lead inspections directed by the commanding general. Execute inspector general functions IAW with AR 20-1. Coordinate external inspections, investigations, and inquiries conducted by higher level commands. Investigate situations associated with alleged abuse of command prerogatives; unequal application of law, regulation, procedure and/or policy. Serve as point for coordination, action, and review of IG reports generated at higher levels, as well as other reports of interest to the IG (GAO, AAA, and Congressional and Presidential inquiries).

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Secret security clearance required.
  • Temporary duty travel (TDY) required up to 25% of the time.
  • This position requires the employee to successfully complete the Headquarters, Department of the Army, Inspector General Course and to successfully pass the recertification training every four years.
  • Position requires incumbent maintain certification in accordance with AR 20-1 and practice IG attributes consistent with same.
  • Employee may be subject to a one-year probationary period if not already completed in accordance with 5CFR criteria.
